Grape Creek Middle School Vision Statement
Grape Creek Middle School strives to provide a well-rounded educational experience through technology and collaborative efforts to foster lifelong learning through a rigorous, differentiated, TEKS-based curriculum focused on individual students needs.
My name is Tim Jetton and I am very happy to serve Grape Creek ISD as the Middle School Principal. I look forward to working with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality middle school experience. As a father and grandfather, I recognize the importance of a strong home to school partnership. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your student’s social and academic needs are met.
This is my ninth year to serve as middle school principal at Grape Creek Middle School. Before joining GCMS, I have served in a variety of teaching, coaching, and administrative roles over the past 29 years. Some of the roles I have held include classroom teacher, coach, athletic director, and assistant principal. Prior to entering education, I served in the Army. I enjoy sports, science, and the outdoors. My academic background includes a Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University, Superintendent Certification from Sul Ross State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Biology from Sul Ross State University.
I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers and staff. My goal is to ensure that every student at GCMS receives high-quality instruction from every teacher. In order to do this, teachers will be provided with support, professional development, and urged to reach out to parents for support with academic and behavioral concerns.
I will be working closely with our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lisa Zeiters, to guarantee that all of our students are intellectually challenged, provided a safe place to learn, and given opportunities to develop good social skills.
Over the last eight years, our campus has worked very hard to provide the needed technology to every student that is necessary to assure college and modern career readiness. Currently each student is issued a Google Chromebook and has access at school and home. We are continually working to provide the best technology and opportunities for our students. We provide multiple applications that promote student success and develop skills. Our goal is to provide the best technology available to our students.
We are also working diligently to offer additional opportunities that meet the interests of all students. Currently we offer a well rounded schedule of elective opportunities. Some of these opportunities include band, athletics, horticulture, journalism, theater, choir, art, robotics, photography, outdoor education, technology applications, and yearbook production.
Thank you for sending your children to GCMS! Their education and safety are the top priority to me and our staff. Please do not hesitate to call or email if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
Sincerely,
Tim Jetton
