The GCISD Leadership Team and the District's School Board has made the decision, based on current CDC and DSHS guidelines, to continue requiring the mask and/or shield and social distancing protocols as we have been following. This requirement will be ongoing until the District's leadership and board decides to do otherwise. The health of our students and staff is always at the forefront of decisions made of this nature. Please click the heading above to view Dr. Smetana's letter and the board's resolution.
Due continued inclement weather and dangerous road conditions, GCISD will
continue hold classes VIRTUALLY. Please know that our students, families, and staffs safety and well-being are our primary concern during this time. Holding Virtual classes provides us a venue to continue to regularly communicate with our families, and to help provide assistance with food and such.
Tomorrow (Wednesday, February 17, 2021) GCISD will be delivering 6 days of Breakfast and lunch packs to those who responded yes to the message sent out via REMIND/DOJO earlier this afternoon from the instructional staff. The delivery will begin between 9 and 10 AM. We are unable to establish a specific/ set time due to the inability to predict road conditions and time it will take to safely travel. Please know that NO student will be penalized or counted absent due to power outages. All campuses have been instructed to send out information for alternative attendance methods, and instructional assistance to all students experiencing power outages and water difficulties. Please continue to consult this page for updates.
